22!!!!

I turned 22 on Friday and I thought this picture pretty much summed up my birthday.... scrubs and balloons. I spent about 9 hours in the cadaver lab and smelled horrific when I got home. I quickly took a shower and went to dinner and a movie with my parents and then got to enjoy a delicious red velvet cake, thanks to my mom.

I was really not that excited about turning 22, because 21 just sounds so much cooler. I had a great birthday, but was missing Brett SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! Only 2 more months until I get to see him!!!!!

Cora's Baptism

I flew to Arizona for my niece, Coralee's, baptism. My sister Mindy asked me to give a talk on baptism and this is what I came up with.......

I made her a baptism box with a bunch of little trinkets inside that represented the covenants and promises she made at baptism. As I was giving my talk and explaining things to her, I pulled out a candy bar and my little nephew whispered loudly, "Cora, will you share your candy with me?" hahaha It was really cute. Cora seemed to lover her box and I had a fun time making it. It was my first experience with mod podge and it was surprisingly easy and fun! I am so proud of my niece Cora and hope that she remembers the covenants and promises that she made on her special day.

BLOG

I have officially made my blog not private so that more people can read it..... ENJOY!

More Schooooool

I know all my posts are about graduate school, but that's all we think about right now and it will be our life for the next 3-4 years. We still aren't 100% sure where we are going, but through rejections and such we have narrowed it down to 6 states:

Florida (University of Miami)
North Carolina (Elon University and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill)
Georgia (Emory University)
Arizona (Arizona State University and Franklin Pierce)
Utah (University of Utah and Brigham Young University)
California (University of San Diego and Pepperdine and University of Southern California)

I am excited about all of these options. A lot of these schools have put Brett on the waiting list so they could tell him if he is in or out just a few days before school starts in September. This won't work for us because a few of my schools start in one month and another starts in June, so we have to know. It's kind of funny because Brett is usually the stress case and lately I have been so stressed out about not knowing and Brett has been fine. I keep reminding him that I could possibly start school in a month on the other side of the country and of course that stresses me out. I am really excited to hopefully move sometime soon and start school, but it will be a lot more exciting once we actually know where we will be living. I will be sure to post something when we know for sure where we will be going!

UPDATE!!!

I thought I would update everyone on our acceptances:

Brett:
University of Miami
University of San Diego
Pepperdine University (in Malibu)
University of Denver

Britni:
University of Miami (our first match!!!)
University of Utah
University of Nevada, Las Vegas
Mount Saint Mary's College (in LA)
Rocky Mountain University (in Provo)
Elon University (in North Carolina, I am on the alternate list)

I am so proud of Brett and myself for getting into all of these great schools and I am so excited to see where we end up!

Brett and I just took a trip to Florida to see my family and tour the University of Miami campus. We both loved the gorgeous weather and I thoroughly enjoyed being with my family!

We visited all the schools in California that we had applied to and here are a few pics:

This is Pepperdine University. The campus was absolutely gorgeous, it was on a hill overlooking the ocean in Malibu. Amazing!

This is Brett looking at the view from the law building at Pepperdine University. He kept repeating "This just isn't fair... this just isn't fair. This is like a resort... not like a school!"

This is obviously University of Southern California. The campus was very pretty and it was less than 1 mile from Mount Saint Mary's where I have been accepted.

This is University of San Diego. This campus was also gorgeous! I interviewed at a PT school in San Diego that would be a good match and I should hear back by this Friday!! We also visited UCLA, but I didn't post pics of it.

This is Mount Saint Mary's College (the first school I was accepted to). The campus was small, but I liked it.
I also went to North Carolina for an interview with my mom, but we took all the pictures there on her camera so I will post those when I get them.
We are still anxiously waiting to hear back from Duke University, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, University of Utah, BYU, and University of Florida for Brett. For me we are waiting to hear back from University of Saint Augustine (in San Diego), University of Florida, and Elon (I am #7 on the"priority alternate list"). So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to the Grad!

I am aware that I am a horrible blogger... but I always feel like my life is not interesting enough to update monthly.

I am also aware that I already had a graduation post, but for those of you who don't know, I found out in April (after I had already walked at graduation with Brett) that I had a few additional prerequisite courses to take for my graduate school applications. I was still in school until a few weeks ago, but I am officially DONE!!!!!!!!!! I can't even describe how happy I am to be done with 8:00 chemistry classes and physics labs, 8:00 4 hour GRE prep courses on Saturday, and application deadlines!!!!!! I feel like a completely new woman! I actually have time now to go to the gym and cook dinner! I am working full time at a physical therapy office and Brett is working full time at a place called Property Solutions. We are enjoying actually seeing each other in the evenings and not having so much stress to worry about.
Brett got his LSAT score back recently and did amazing and has received fee waivers for his applications to a few schools we didn't even consider applying to because they were ranked so highly, so I am proud of him! I spent the last few months applying to Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs and have been getting responses in the mail recently. I got accepted to Mount St. Mary's in LA and have been invited to interview at University of Utah, University of Miami, and University of Nevada Las Vegas, so that will be taking up my time in the next few months. We are each applying to about 20-25 schools each and hope that the ones we get into will match and that everything will work out! We took a trip to Grand Targhee for Christmas so I will post those pics soon and I will be going to Florida for my interview and to see my family at the end of February, I am so excited!!!!!!!!! Hope all is well with everyone!
